Frequently Asked Fishing Storage Questions
Here's what you need to know before you start packing for your next fishing adventure.
Do I need waterproof storage?
While waterproof tackle boxes are a great choice for all-weather anglers, offshore fishing, and anyone setting out on a kayak, tackle boxes do not always need to be waterproof. However, saltwater can be extremely corrosive, and anyone whose equipment is at risk of salt spray should take steps to keep their tackle storage as dry as possible. You can also think about adding dessicant packets or anti-rust vapour tabs to your tackle storage for extra anti-rust protection.
How do I choose the right lure storage containers?
When it comes to lure storage, there are a few key rules to ensure you're keeping your lures – and your tackle boxes – in good condition. Always match your lure type to your containers: hard baits and lures need hard plastic tackle trays, and soft plastic lures need to stay in their original resealable packaging to avoid them turning into a big gooey mess. In that original packaging, pack them in soft-sided bait binders or larger storage cases.
What should I look for in tackle boxes and tackle trays?
Tackle storage can be as individual as the angler who organised it. But the main principle behind storing your gear is finding something that suits you: something that will help you get items you need in the moments you need them. Think about the size of your tackle box, not just in terms of how much gear you have, but how much you're able to fit on the boat with you, and how often you're likely to use it. Look for something that fits your level of ruggedness: go sturdier when you're travelling more and in worse conditions. And consider having more than one tackle storage setup: maybe you can have a smaller, modular one for a short sit on the pier, and something more comprehensive for your offshore fishing weekend.
Do you sell storage for rods and reels?
Absolutely, we do! You'll find the right spot for your rods and reels in our dedicated storage section here.
How do I know if a product is in stock?
We do carry an extensive range of tackle storage, and sometimes, a product will show up as "out of stock". We endeavour to ensure most stock is available at all times. Should you purchase an item that is currently out of stock, our team will contact you either via email or phone. We can then discuss our options, which could include waiting for the product to come from our supplier swapping the product for another size or colour or issuing a refund.
I can't find the tackle storage I'm looking for here. Can you still help?
If you can't find the right product to suit your setup here, we're always happy to help you with your search! If you have looked through our website and can’t find what you are looking for, we have a bigger physical store at 436 Old Cleveland Road, Camp Hill. If you can’t venture in, please email us at info@tacklewarehouse.com.au with your requirements, and maybe a picture and we will be happy to source it for you. The only thing to remember is that not all products from our suppliers's international sites are available in Australia, but we will do our best.
